Blue Lab-Grown Diamond | 1.00CT Octagonal HPHT | VS2 | Baroness Cut

We were genuinely delighted when this diamond was finished.

This is BuBo’s first time working with this shape. It has a rather wonderful name — the Baroness Cut.

Its silhouette reminds us of a distinguished medal: angular, commanding, and yet — thanks to the brilliant-cut faceting — extraordinarily full of light.

But as you can see, this is not a diamond that chases perfection.

To allow the blue to become deeper and more saturated, we made a deliberate choice during the cutting process: we sacrificed a degree of symmetry.

It was a trade-off.

Had we prioritised geometric precision above all else, the stone might have been more technically correct. But we chose to let the colour stay.

Because at BuBo, cutting a coloured diamond has never been a question with only one right answer.

It is, more than anything, a question of choice.

Every facet is a decision about what we want this diamond to become.
